Committee Updates:

The Infrastructure and Planning Committee Updates

The Infrastructure and Planning Committee reviews and responds to proposed developments in the Capitol Hill area. The committee recently reviewed a proposed 4-unit condominium at 361 Reed Ave. We successfully got the developer to modify the design so that there will be windows facing the street which were absent in the original proposal. The committee is currently reviewing a proposal for a 14-unit development to be accessed from West Capitol Street. Since a similar project was recently approved on West Capitol, the committee has concerns about the ability of West Capitol Street to handle the additional traffic and parking, as well as the capacity of the storm drain system to handle the additional runoff. The I&P committee is meeting March 27 to review this proposal. Comments from all Council members are welcome.
