Changing Traffic Patterns
This week, crews have made progress northward from 2nd Avenue through the intersection of State Street and North Temple, and are preparing for waterline tie-in work in the intersection. In order to accommodate this, drivers can expect changes to traffic control at the intersection. Details on the specific change to traffic will be sent out once finalized.
Upcoming Sewer Work
Crews will also be starting sewer work on State Street within the work zone. Spot repair work on Hillside Avenue and 200 North on the east side of State Street to begin in the coming weeks.
Drivers can expect heavy traffic impacts and should avoid the area whenever possible. See map, below, offering alternate routes to reach the city while avoiding congestion near the work zone.
State Street & North Temple | Pedestrians will be able to cross east/west across State Street and north/south across North Temple by pressing the crosswalk button and waiting for the walk signal.
State Street & 200 North/ Hillside Avenue/300 North | The existing crosswalks will remain open whenever possible.
Crosswalks in the work zone may close when work is happening directly at the specific intersections to ensure pedestrian safety
This map shows options for alternate routes that can be used to avoid the project area. Be aware that many of the streets adjacent the work zone are open to local traffic only.
Keep these alternate routes in mind as you are planning your commute into and out of the city.
