Capitol Open House: Monday, October 3 through Friday, October 7 – 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Enjoy learning from docents as they share historic information, listening to children and cultural group performances in the Rotunda, and viewing rare historical artifacts on display throughout the Capitol.

Capitol Discovery Day: Saturday, October 8 – 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
With a special focus on engaging the youngest Utahns, as well as the young at heart, Capitol Centennial Discovery Day provides an opportunity for all Utah families to familiarize themselves with the intricate architecture and symbols spread throughout the 100-year-old “People’s House.”
Hands-on activities will include: Geodesic Dome Construction, County Medallion Rubbings & Capitol Artwork Coloring Pages, Copper Toolings, Paper Floor Mosaics, Capitol Discovery Quest (Scavenger Hunt) and Base Isolator Seismic Shake Table Demo.

Commemorating a Century Gala – Saturday, October 8 – 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. (ish)
The event is free and all are welcome to come celebrate the ‘People’s House’ and its one hundred year history. The public is welcome to come and enjoy a formal program commemorating the historic opening (6 p.m..), with a Dance Exhibition (7:30) and gala to follow.
